IndusPac, SPS, PSI, and Canyon State Box merge to become ProtecPac

Jul 7, 2022 | Press Release

OAKLAND, Calif. – Specialized Packaging Group (SPG), the parent company for an assortment of the world’s leading manufacturers of packaging and building products in the United States, Canada and Mexico, announced today it has completed a rebrand and consolidation within its family of companies.

Included in those efforts were new logo designs for SPG and its subsidiaries, Ivex Protective Packaging and Packaging Concepts & Design (PCD)—along with the consolidation of owned brands, indusPac, PSI, SPS and Canyon State Box & Container into a new brand named ProtecPac

“While these changes mean a lot to us as an organization in terms of brand cohesion, the advantages will be even more impactful for customers,” said Bob Lally, CEO of Specialized Packaging Group. “In addition to changing our look and feel, we’ve streamlined our services and added design capabilities and new equipment for rapid tooling that enables us go to market faster.”

No longer siloed, the collective strength of the family of brands is bolstered by the ability to now leverage shared assets and supply chain resiliency. The consolidated company will also benefit from standardization and freight cost reductions across packaging products, streamlined plant audits, improved inventory control, just-in-time delivery, program launch management, assembly line side orientation to reduce physical space requirements, enhanced quoting functionality, and end-of-life services to recover customer-owned containers from suppliers for future use.

Sustainability will be a driving force for SPG, as the company aims to leverage the value of packaging while at the same time reducing its environmental impact. Through an unwavering commitment to sustainability, Specialized Packaging Group is recycling 12 million pounds of scrap per year and putting it back into our products.

SPG has always aspired to be the steward of brands that lead the industry in protective, engineered and specialty packaging. The company prides itself on its products being superior in quality, innovative in nature, competitively priced and readily available.

In December 2020, SPG was acquired by Altamont Capital Partners, a private investment firm based in the San Francisco Bay area with more than $4 billion of assets under management.

SPG has 20 locations across North America and remains steadfastly committed to nimbly designing and producing packaging material that reduces customers’ costs and instills confidence in the company’s ability to deliver a high-quality product that is constantly evolving.

“We’re thrilled about this rebrand and reorganization and couldn’t be more excited about the future,” Bob Lally added.
